Teacher of Religious Studies/Citizenship

Full time (commencing January 2025) TLR available for the right candidate

 

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and innovative teacher of Religious Studies and Citizenship, on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be highly motivated to achieving the best possible outcomes for our students and will be a team player who is determined to make a significant contribution to raising attainment across the department.

We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs and can offer excellent professional development, guidance and support. We are a friendly, progressive department who enjoy working collaboratively to create the best possible learning experience for our students.  

The successful candidate will have: 

  • An enthusiasm for Religious Studies, Philosophy and Ethics as well as Citizenship
  • The ability and desire to teach KS3, GCSE and A Level students.
  • The ability to support and raise the expectations and aspirations of students of all abilities.
  • A desire to share experiences and good practice with colleagues.

Sir Harry Smith Community College is an 11-18 Academy, proud of its traditional values and innovative approaches to Teaching and Learning, and its standards of discipline and respect. ‘The provision for students in the sixth form is strong. Teachers’ expert subject knowledge and delivery ensures students learn well. Students develop deep understanding of complex and abstract concepts. Students confidently apply these to different situations, effectively drawing together what they know.
